Structural Strengthening Apartment Building - Greenwich

SRS has been contracted to urgently carry out structural strengthening in the undercroft of this 5 story occupied apartment building. Concrete columns and beams have suffered significant decay over a long period of time.

Type of works undertaken in the project

Works involve short notice scaffolding and emergency propping with Shore 400 series props. Follow up works involve providing reinforced high strength column jackets to restore and increase column strengths. Other work involves beam strengthening (including carbon fibre) and multiple areas of traditional spalling repairs. If the structural decay had been left for very much longer and without proper repairs a catastrophic failure of structural elements was a likely scenario.
